 Treatment of ringworm

 Treatment of ringworm :- 

1. Tropical ointment : (Antifungal)

- Clotrimazole 3 times daily for 1-2 weeks or 

- Terbinafine or miconazole 3 times daily for 1-2 weeks.

2. Systemic drugs :- (For extensive infection)

- Griseofulvin 500mg or terbinafine 250mg daily

- Itraconazole 100 mg daily for 1-2 months. 

 Prevention of ringworm :- Ring worm can be prevented by taking the following measures:- 

1. Improvement of sanitation including surrounding environment and clothing

2. Improvement of personal hygiene.

3. Proper treatment of infected persons

4. Prevention of spread from infected person to new host.
