Acute Respiratory tract Infection (ARI) :- Acute respiratory infection (ARI) may cause inflammation of the respiratory tract anywhere from nose to alveoli, with a wide range of combination of symptom and signs.
Classification of acute respiratory infection (ARI) :-
Classification
For age 2 month to 5 years
Less than 2 month
Very severe disease
Any of danger sign present:
1. Not able to drink
2. Convulsion
3. Abnormally sleepy or
difficult to wake
4. Stridor in a calm child
5. Severe malnutrition.
Any of danger signs present :-
1. Stopped feeding well.
2. Convulsion.
3. Abnormally sleepy or
difficult at wake
4. Stridor in calm child
5. Wheeze
6. Fever or low body temperature (35 5c)
Severe pneumonia
1. No danger sign
2. Chest in drawing Present
1. Severe chest in drawing & or
2. Fast breathing (60k/min)
Pneumonia
1. No danger sign
2. No chest in drawing
3. Only fast breathing
(i) 2 months up to 12 months (50 breath/min or more)
(ii) 12 months up to 5 years
(40 breaths per min or more)
pneumonia is not present (2 month)
No pneumonia :
sough and cold
1. No chest in drawing
2. No fast breathing
1. No chest in drawing
2. No fast breathing
