Q. 06. Define community medicine, communicable disease, Host and carriers ?
Community medicine :- According to WHO community medicine is “A system of delivery of comprehensive health care to the individual or family at the level of community by a health team in order to promote physical, mental & social wellbeing”.
Communicable disease :- Communicable disease is a disease which can get transmitted from one host or reservoir to another through transference of a sufficient quantity of the causative agent.
Host :- A man or other animal, including birds and art hropods, that affords subsistence or lodgment of an infectious agent under natural condition is called host .
Carried :- Carrier is defined as “an infected person or animal that harbors a specific infectious agent in the absence of discernible clinical disease and serves as a potential source of infection for others
